Presentation and Objectives

In 2012 the Academy of Medical and Health Sciences of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands -the Academy- initiated a project to create the InterAc Salut Foundation, linked to public Catalan universities. InterAc Salut is the culmination of the long relationship between the Academy and these universities, and its main objective is to become a benchmark in post-graduate training, and in research of Health Sciences teaching, by incorporating the knowledge and experience derived from clinical practice.

With the initial support of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya -UPC-, the Universitat de Girona -UdG-, the Universitat de Lleida -UdL-, the Universitat Rovira i Virgili -URV-,and the Universitat de Vic -Uvic-, the Academy initiated the procedures to create the InterAc Salut Foundation. The aim of the Foundation is to bestow academic recognition on activities promoted by the Academy, its subsidiaries and its Scientific Societies, and to develop joint postgraduate specialized programmes.

At the beginning of 2016, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) becomes honorary member of the Foundation Board.
