History of InterAc Salut Foundation
The InterAc Salut Foundation is an independent entity, founded on the initiative of the Academy of Medical Sciences and Health of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands -The Academy-.
With the initial support of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, the University of Girona, the University of Lleida, the Rovira i Virgili University and the University of Vic-UCC, in 2012 the Academy began the procedures to create the InterAc Salut Foundation. The aim of the Foundation is to bestow academic recognition on activities promoted by the Academy, its subsidiaries and its Scientific Societies, and to enhance ongoing training to develop joint postgraduate specialized programmes.
The Foundation was legally constituted on July 17, 2013 and was registered in the Register of Foundations of the Generalitat de Catalunya on October 14, 2015, with the number 2918. In 2016, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the International University of Catalonia joined the Foundation, and in June 2018, the University of Andorra. The Board of InterAc Salut Foundtaion approved, on June 14, 2019, the incorporation of Ramon Llull University, the University of Deusto and Pompeu Fabra University and, on February 21, 2020, that of the Open University of Catalonia and the University of the Balearic Islands. In February 2023, the University of Barcelona joined.
